Ingredients
- 4 slices cooked bacon, diced
- 1 1/3 cup quick cooking grits
- 1 cup milk (low fat or whole)
- 4 1/3 cups water
- 3 tablespoons butter
- ½ cup shredded Colby/jack cheese
- ½ teaspoon salt
Preparation
- In a saucepan, bring the grits, milk, water and salt to a boil.
- Cover, and reduce heat to low.
- Cook, stirring occasionally for 5 minutes, or until thick and creamy.
- Remove from heat, and stir in the cheese and bacon.
- Garnish with additional cheese and bacon if desired.
